MS Security Systems has roots going back further than you might expect. Today we're a trusted, fully insured, family-run business protecting homes and businesses across the North East.
From apprentice to installer
A career that came full circle.
In 1995, Steve began working as an apprentice alarm engineer. At the time, though, the job didn't quite capture his imagination. There was plenty of drilling, running cables, working outdoors and pulling up floorboards — and he soon decided to follow a different path.
Steve moved into IT, where he built a successful technical career and developed the problem-solving, networking and customer-service skills that would later prove invaluable.
He also spent three years working in policing and now works within the justice system, giving him a broad understanding of security from several different perspectives. This experience helps him look beyond the equipment itself and consider how people, properties and businesses can be protected in the real world.
Fast-forward to 2017, when Steve's parents wanted an alarm system installed at their home. What began as a family favour quickly reignited his interest in the security industry. After extensive research, professional training and plenty of hands-on experience, one installation led to another — and MS Security Systems was born.
