2. The information we collect

Information you give us

When you fill in our quote request form, email us, message us on WhatsApp or call us, we collect the details you choose to provide. Through our website quote form this typically includes:

  • Your name;
  • Your phone number and email address;
  • Your address and postcode;
  • An indication of your budget and the service you are interested in;
  • Any other details you include in your message about the work you need.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically records limited technical information — such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view — in standard server logs. This helps us deliver the site securely and protect it against misuse. We do not use this information to identify you personally, and we do not combine it with your enquiry details.

3. How and why we use your information

We only use your personal information for clear, limited purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide a quotation;
  • To arrange and carry out a site survey, installation or repair;
  • To provide aftercare, maintenance and support;
  • To keep records of the work we have done and manage our accounts;
  • To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

Our lawful bases

Data protection law requires us to have a “lawful basis” for using your information. Depending on the situation, we rely on:

  • Steps prior to a contract — where you ask us for a quote or to carry out work, we use your details to take those steps at your request;
  • Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries, run and improve our business, and keep proper records, in a way you would reasonably expect and that does not override your rights;
  • Legal obligation — where we must keep certain records, for example for tax and accounting;
  • Consent — where consent is needed, we will ask for it clearly, and you can withdraw it at any time.

We will not send you marketing messages unless you have asked us to, and you can opt out at any time. This is in keeping with the PECR rules on electronic marketing.

4. Cookies and analytics

This website does not use cookies, advertising trackers or third-party analytics that follow you around the web. Because of this, no cookie consent banner is needed.

The fonts used to display the site’s text are served from our own website rather than a third-party font service. The site is delivered through a hosting provider and a content delivery network, which may process limited technical data (such as your IP address) purely to serve the pages, as described in sections 2 and 6.

5. Who we share your information with

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We only share it where necessary:

  • Our team — our engineers and staff, so they can survey, install, repair or support your system;
  • Our website and form provider (Netlify) — which hosts this site and securely processes quote form submissions on our behalf;
  • Professional advisers — such as our accountant, where needed to run the business;
  • Authorities — where we are required to by law.

Where another organisation processes information on our behalf, they act only on our instructions and are required to keep it secure.

6. Sending information outside the UK

Some of the service providers we use (such as our website host and the content delivery network that helps deliver this site) may store or process data on servers outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law — such as the UK IDTA or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses — so that your information continues to be protected.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it:

  • If you make an enquiry but do not go ahead, we keep your details for a short period in case you come back to us, and then delete them.
  • If we carry out work for you, we keep records of the installation and related financial documents for up to six years, to meet our warranty, legal and accounting obligations.

When information is no longer needed, we delete or securely destroy it.

8. Keeping your information secure

We take appropriate measures to keep your information safe and to prevent it from being lost, misused or accessed without authorisation. Access is limited to those who need it to do their job or provide a service to you. While no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, we work to protect your information at all times.

9. Your data protection rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Be informed about how we use your information — which is the purpose of this policy;
  • Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • Rectification — ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances;
  • Restrict or object to our use of your information in certain circumstances;
  • Data portability — ask us to transfer your information to you or another provider;
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on your consent.

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in how we work or in the law. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Please check back occasionally.
